Charleston is one of the higher-priced wedding band markets in the Southeast. The median wedding books at about $8,600, a third of couples spend $10,000 or more, and only a handful come in under $5,000. Most couples choose bands with 7 to 10 pieces. Demand stays steady throughout the year, so an off-season date may help more with availability than price. April through June and October are the busiest months.
A note on pricing: These ranges reflect Sam Hill’s all-inclusive pricing, which covers band travel and lodging, sound, stage lighting, instruments and amps, emcee services, recorded music during breaks, up to one special request or first-dance song for the band to learn, and up to four hours of performance time. Bands are also happy to play additional special requests from their existing repertoire. Gratuity is optional and at the client’s discretion. Many events also include optional add-ons, so final pricing can vary based on the date, location, and specific needs of the event.

If you are planning a peak-season Saturday (April–June and October), it is worth starting toward the earlier end of that range. The most-requested bands tend to book those dates first.
