Hello Justin,
Thank you so much for reaching out! Gallatin Canyon was absolutely wonderful; they were so easy and friendly to work with, and were one of our very favorite parts of the wedding. They really made our ceremony and reception special (we'll be treasuring our memories of our last dance to Swept Away for a long time!) and we got so many comments from guests about what incredible musicians they were. We will definitely make sure to write a review in the coming days!
Thanks to you all for being a part of our day.
All the best,
Sydney and Ian

Hi, Justin,
I am finally getting a chance to send you some comments about Gallatin Canyon!  We had a wonderful evening at Maymont for our son's rehearsal dinner and Gallatin Canyon added just the right musical atmosphere.  They were so talented and everyone loved their performance.  Several guests asked about them and how to get in touch to have them at a future event.  All of the band members were so nice and easy to get along with.  It was an all acoustic night since it was outside and the Maymont Foundation did not want any amplified music in the courtyard.  But, we could still hear Gallatin Canyon just fine!  They were nice enough to include some John Prine songs for us, too! I was in touch several times with Ben Hernandez as we tried to plan this event from last Spring, then over the Summer and, finally, getting it done in the Fall!!!  I had a great experience with you, Gallatin Canyon and Sam Hill Entertainment throughout all of the planning and everything turned out perfectly.  I would highly recommend the band to anyone looking for a fantastic bluegrass band with great harmonies, wonderful song selection and excellent musicians.
Thank you so much for everything,
Jane Janney

Andrew,
Gallatin Canyon was spectacular from start to finish. They were punctual, friendly, and were quick to adapt to change. We really appreciate the lastminute addition of the outdoor PA. And they put up with the cold without a complaint.
We’ll be sure to recommend the band (and Sam Hill) to our friends and family.
Thanks again for everything!

I havent had a chance yet to send you the thank you that you all deserve, so I hope email suffices. We had the most perfect day at the wedding and one of the best decisions we made was hiring you all. I had so many comments from people telling me how great you were—we loved how laid back you made the wedding feel but also had everyone dancing. We LOVED having you all. Thank you for being one of the highlights of our day. I’m going to keep an eye out for anymore Charlottesville performances before I move to be with Ryan in September, but thank you again. Hopefully will be able to see you all play again soon!

We couldn't have chosen a better band! Up until the wedding day, communicating with Ben Hernandez was relaxed and friendly. He was very flexible and accommodating. On wedding day, the music was fantastic. Acoustic bluegrass on the porch and at the ceremony, what could be better? I can't recall how many of our guests came up to us, complimenting us on the excellent music choice.
All the best,

Hi Justin,
We had a lovely wedding and Gallatin Canyon really added to the fun experience! It was easy getting in touch with Ben from Gallatin Canyon leading up to the wedding, and he really accommodated every request we made (e.g. first dance song, fatherdaughter dance song, added a Waltz since we had taken Ballroom lessons). They were more than willing to make announcements for cake cutting, group pictures, etc. I had mentioned months ago that Daniel's aunts like to dance to salsa and they added salsa music to one of the break playlists.
The band members were pleasant to be around and did a nice job of inviting our guests to the dance floor. Everything went as I hoped, and many guests complemented our choice in nontraditional wedding music.

Rachel and Ryan worked with them on selections and I believe they couldn't have been more accommodating with suggestions and preferences. They made the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner something truly special, and beyond that, they're just truly nice people.
We would be delighted to recommend Sam Hill Entertainment to all, and we appreciate your kindness very much.

Hi Justin,
The band was perfect! They ultimately ended up moving outside and played all acoustic with no microphones and it sounded awesome. They also played an acoustic song during our ceremony that was beautiful, and they coordinated with us on the beginning dance songs. They were a treat to work with... responsive and caring . We would hire them again for sure and would strongly tell anyone else to hire them also. Thanks so much and please communicate this to them!

Hi Mike,
Gallitin Canyon were simply superb. Finding a band so well rehearsed that they can hit the high lonesome harmony is amazing! All of my guests were enchanted by the music. My family had a lot of stories about my great grandparents singing some of the songs. Furthermore, the gentlemen were helpful and accommodating. They even helped move things around when the ceremony was moved indoors.
Thanks,

Andrew,
Gallatin Canyon sounds both musically and vocally was exceptional – everyone really enjoyed the live blue grass and their ability to put other pop tunes to blue grass, Tom Petty etc. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a variety of bluegrass and classics to bluegrass. They were on time and ready to perform. All the members of the band were real easy to talk to and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I know that the father of the bride was exceptionally impressed with the band – volume and quality of music first class. I can’t say enough accolades about how good they were and how they enjoy playing to a crowd. Vocal harmonies were off the chart cool.
Thanks again to sam hill for one stop shopping for bands and great videos and interviews helped us to find this great band. Our theme was Barbecue and Bluegrass…..the lived up to both – fun was had by all.
We have used your site to book a band for my daughters wedding next summer and we are looking fwd to that also.
Cheers and thanks again.

Wow! Gallatin Canyon is terrific. Ben and the fellas put on quite the show with the combination of good ole bluegrass tunes and bluegrass versions of more familiar rock and roll tunes. The guys have perfected their instruments and their vocals are in perfect harmony. The fellas are super nice, very easy to work with and will customize a play list of recorded music to play during their breaks. Our guests had nothing but praise for the band. They arrived at our venue in plenty of time to set up and get in tune so everything went off without a hitch. I would most definitely recommend Gallatin Canyon to all my friends!

Hi Justin,
In sum, Gallatin Canyon was an absolute highlight, on a day that was filled with highlights, so that's really saying something! Ben was awesome to work with in the weeks leading up to the wedding and coordinated the band learning one of my husband's favorite songs as a surprise. They played so beautifully during the ceremony and really set the perfect mood. During our cocktail hour they broke into more of their classic sound and our guests LOVED it, gathering around and taking videos of them. When they played the Counting Crows song that they learned for us, my husband and I started slow dancing and then many of our guests did the same. The event planner at Castle Hill said she had never seen a cocktail party spontaneously break into dance in all her years of wedding planning. I will always remember how incredible that moment was. So many guests have asked me since who that awesome band was and said how much they loved them.
Overall, working with you and your team was a breeze and I'm so thankful for everything.
The only thing more I could have asked for is a recording of the Counting Crows song they played!
Thank you again!

Andy,
Everyone just absolutely LOOOOOOOVED Gallatin Canyon. Those young men are so sweet and such great musicians. It would not have been the same party without them. Everyone came up to me asking for their names and where we found them.
They played the best selection of songs ... tailoring their music to the vibe of the night (cocktails, dinner, then kickin' it off with foot tapping music.) They had folks shouting requests and everyone stayed close to them on the patio after dinner. We even broke down the tables early because everyone wanted to listen to music on the patio. I couldn't have wished for more. They even played a special request for my oneyearold grandson, and had him bouncing up and down on the patio. You are so lucky to have signed them exclusively. I just love that band.
But even more than their music, they just looked like they were having a great time, smiling, and Ben was awesome when he spoke to the crowd between songs. Thanks so much for sharing them. They have so many songs on their song list that we love. It couldn't have been more perfect for the venue. I felt like we were having a barbecue in the backyard back in 1790 when that house was built.
One of the musicians was enjoying the sunset, then the stars during their breaks. They all seem to enjoy the venue at La Fourche. It's definitely a special place with views of pastures, horses, and mountains.
They were also careful to ask whether they should move their van out of eyesight from the patio. I just couldn't have been more pleased. Whoever raised those young fellows did a mighty fine job. We even started a fire in the firepit near the patio which did cause smoke for a bit to blow in their eyes, and they just laughed, kept on singing, and said they were used to such things since they were all raised in the country ...
Thanks again. And yes, we love Gallatin Canyon. We might become groupies and will go hear them play at any future public events. We'll definitely use Sam Hill next time we need music.
Thanks so much for making the entire weekend a very special event. Music is so important. We'll remember it in our hearts always.
Thanks,

Susan Terry

Justin
The band was fantastic and the music was perfect. They were incredibly friendly and easy to work with. We could not have imagined a better group to come and perform in our wedding. Thank you again and please let them know how much we appreciated them being there.

Hey Justin,
Just wanted to send a quick thank you for your help in booking Gallatin Canyon for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and also wanted to let you know how much we loved having them there.
I was listening through the doors to all the ceremony music and it was gorgeous. Exactly what we had asked for in terms of prelude and processional music. For my entrance I had a specific song request that they learned for our day and they did a beautiful job with it. I was thrilled.
For the cocktail hour, my husband and I wish we could have just sat and listened to them instead of walking around and mingling :) The music was upbeat and fun and performed perfectly; we had several guests tell us how great the band was.
Planning with the band was seamless Ben was in contact with us and talked us through song options, timing, etc. so neither of us felt like we had anything to worry about that day.
We didn't know much of what we wanted for our wedding when we got engaged but the one thing my husband and I both agreed on from day 1 was that a bluegrass band was nonnegotiable; and I don't think we could have done any better than Gallatin Canyon.
Thanks again!!
Nicole

Hi Justin,
Gallatin Canyon provided a fabulous, laid back and fun atmosphere for our wedding! The band was easy to work with, introduced and mc'ed the evening perfectly. They were flexible during our first dances and toasts. The group read the room (er, tent!) and kept spirits high. I had people coming up to me all night complementing the band. Gallatin Canyon set up quickly and had great personalities to carry our guests through the night.
Best,
Christina

Andy,
I have worked with Gallatin Canyon on several occasions, and am always very excited when I’m able to book them for an event. Whether a public set at a local winery, or a private event for UVa donors, the band consistently gives stellar performances and is routinely mentioned with rave reviews by our guests when solicited for event feedback. Their talents coupled with the members’ relaxed and fun personalities have made them a personal favorite to watch and professional favorite to book!

Thanks again!

Cheers,

Justin, I wanted to send a note to thank you for suggesting Gallatin Canyon for our house party. Ben Hernandez and the band were a real pleasure. Great attention to detail; on time; good sound equipment; happy to play a long time. Most of all, very, very good bluegrass and bluegrasscountry music, with a nice change of pace between ballads and more vigorous songs. They played well, sang well and were friendly and engaging with the crowd. Everyone at the party had a really good time, reflected in some in ways in the fact that the band succeeded in getting folks up and dancing. I hope we’re able to have Gallatin Canyon back sometime, and very much appreciate your sending them to us.

Hi Mike....
I wanted to let you know that The Gallatin Canyon Trio played for my son's Wedding Rehearsal dinner.
They did an awesome job. Their sound was perfect for the event and the room.
We had a large crowd and they provided just the right atmosphere, volume and sound.
Everyone commented that they enjoyed the ambiance the trio created for the evening.
Ben (and his co musicians) were extremely pleasant, easy to work with and sweet.
Thank you so much for your recommendation.....and I look forward to making my next BlueGrass party.
Sincerely,
Eileen Feldman
