Biography: The Brothership
A musical and family tradition that began its musical trek in June of 1972, four young siblings started out imitating Motown artists such as The Temptations, The Jackson Five, Marvin Gaye as well as James Brown and the Beatles. Over the past 30 years, this group of brothers has seen many acts come and go, both on the national and regional music scene. The Brothership however remains strong and just as dedicated as ever to loyal music fans over the years. The group is still among favorites at festivals, wedding receptions, frat parties and corporate affairs throughout the United States as well as destinations abroad.
MEET THE BAND
The bass player and one of the featured frontline performers, Robert Brodie is a real powerhouse when it comes to working the crowd with his infamous twenty minute workout, featuring hot tracks from groups like Cameo pumping Word Up, and Single Life. This dominant funkster has captivated audiences all over.
Robert then strategically guides the crowd to the soulful and capable grip of his brother, Sidney Brodie, the group's guitarist, leader and founder. Sidney sings a variety of styles of music. Whether courting a soulful ballad or chartbusting pop, his delivery takes the audience on a musical journey that will be remembered for a long time. One of Sidney's strong points at managing the group is his constant push for the family togetherness, a necessity in today's material world.
The tag-teaming style of the Brodie Brothers throughout the evening, no doubt, moves the crowd through every emotion imaginable as the musical baton is passed throughout the evening to the youngest member of the Brodie family tradition. Sidney "Breeze" Brodie, simply known as "Breeze", extraordinary drummer/vocals is growing musically into a super talent. Breeze first came on the scene with his Dad, Sidney at 10 years old. Now 17, Breeze was taught his first beat at the tender age of 5 years old by his Dad on Christmas Day 1992. Breeze aspires to be an all around entertainer, now working on vocals and studying Jazz. When it comes to describing this child protégé... you have to see it to believe it.
Valerie Brodie, female vocalist/percussionist and sister of Robert and Sidney, dazzles the audiences with soft and upbeat tunes from Aretha Franklin's Respect to Etta James' At Last. A definite favorite at weddings, Valerie rejoined the group in February 2003, adding a touch of class to this already dynamic group of entertainers.
